Special Characters and Formatting:

Quotation Marks: Use curly quotes (“ ”) or angle quotes (« ») as per the language requirements.

Non-breaking Space: Use a non-breaking space (Ctrl+Shift+Space) between initials (e.g., J. D. Smith) and between a number and its unit (e.g., 2024 yr., 100 km).

Dashes: Use an Em dash (—) for text parentheticals and year ranges (2018—2024); use a hyphen (-) only for compound words.
Tables and Figures:

Tables: * Captions must be placed above the table, aligned to the right or centered (e.g., Table 1. Table Title).

Use the "AutoFit to Window" setting.

All tables must be editable (do not insert tables as images).

In-text citations are mandatory (e.g., see Table 1).

Figures (Diagrams, Charts, Photos): * Captions must be placed directly below the figure, centered (e.g., Fig. 1. Figure Title).

Images must be clear (minimum 300 dpi) and inserted "In Line with Text."

All drawing elements (shapes, blocks) created in Word must be grouped as a single object.

Using the Tab key or spaces to create paragraph indents.

Splitting a table/figure and its caption across different pages.
