Information-educational environment of VET system: problems and prospects
Abstract
The work reveals the relevance of vocational education information- educational environment design
whose content is represented by scientific (educational) training materials for students and teachers of
vocational schools. The definition "information-educational environment” is specified. The features of
information and educational environment of vocational education and possible prospects for
administration, teaching staff and students are singled out.
Nowadays the status of IT-software of VET system in Ukraine does not meet the requirements of
Information Society, which seeks to integrate into the European and world community. There is a
certain lag from developed countries in some aspects: firstly, in an effective, professional use of IT in
training, retraining and advanced training of specialists in different fields and levels; secondly, in use of
Web-based technologies for development and transmission of data; thirdly, in absence of a single
information-educational environment of VET system whose conditions would ensure the activity of
educational institutions towards the incorporation of IT as a factor of influence on the development and
usage of innovative forms, methods and means of education.
It is assumed that the design of unified educational information environment of VET in Ukraine and
use of its content in vocational schools will promote the development of traditional and innovative
approaches to the implementation of educational, pedagogical, administrative and educational
activities. Qualitative characteristics of IT, such as Web-based technologies have to influence the
improvement of quality and availability of vocational education for various categories of the
population, which has been recently important for our country finding itself in a quite difficult socioeconomic
situation.
