RENOVATION OF VOCATIONAL TRAINING CONTENT FOR TROWEL WORKERS BASED ON COMPETENCE APPROACH
Abstract
Analysis of experience as to training the labor of construction sphere has shown that at vocational schools qualified workers training is implemented according to imperfect qualification descriptions and standards which do not reflect objective information about the quality of knowledge gained, skills and competences corresponding to labor market’s substantial needs. It is indicated that in this context the problem concerning renovation of vocational education content according to the needs of present day labor market is of primary importance. Therefore there is necessity of searching particular mechanisms for guaranteeing the quality of skilled workers training. Vocational education state standards based on competences belong to the very aforementioned mechanisms. The author proves that one of important structural elements of trowel workers’ professional performance is results of their work. Here professional performance means range of several kinds of work (plastering, painting, papering, facing etc.). Thus, skilled workers training should include different stages and be formed on module- competence training technology. According to this approach vocational education rating must be based on satisfaction of labor market demands whereas students’ knowledge evaluation must be realized on the basis of both theoretical knowledge and practical skills and values. It is substantiated that renovation of competence-based vocational education content to train trowel workers determines objective need in elaboration and practical implementation of methodology on defining quantitative and qualitative features of labor market and on finding out employers’ requirements. At the same time qualitative changes in social sphere, transformations in work’s features and content, application of new techniques and technology stipulate constant alterations in vocational education and training of trowel workers hence increasing the requirements to selecting the content for their education.
