Theoretical bases of forming the ecological competence of the agrarian higher education institutions’ future academic staff
Abstract
The current contradictions in forming the ecological competence of future academic staff of agrarian profile, which are conditioned by social, demographic, economic and spiritual factors of personality development, are enlightened in the article. The relevance of the chosen topic is grounded by the presence in Ukraine of the sings of ecological crisis, prompts domestic pedagogical science to rethink the relations in the system “nature – person – society” and predetermines the need for forming the teachers-agrarians’ ecological competence.
It proves that the process of forming the ecological competence among students of agrarian institutions should have system character. The set of principles (didactic, specific and principles of ecological education) are determined and grounded; they should be the basis for forming the ecological competence of future teachers-agrarians. Each of the above principles has a certain place in the system of ecological training of future academic staff of agrarian profile. All the principles are closely interconnected and interdependent; none of them can be used without taking into account the others’ requirements. The most efficient methods of forming ecological competence are characterized.
It is emphasized on the importance of forming in the agrarian higher education institutions the awareness of students about the importance of their own involvement in the environmental problems emergence and solution. This is the basis for forming their stable ecological position and stimulus for further environmental activity
