ENGINEERING PEDAGOGY AS A THEORETICAL AND METHODOLOGICAL BASIS FOR TRAINING FUTURE TEACHERS OF PROFESSIONAL STUDIES

Abstract

Relevance: domestic vocational education today requires the training of highly qualified engineers-teachers capable of performing professional activities, combining the latest achievements of both modern engineering and pedagogy; so, in modern conditions, the ideas of system integration of engineering and pedagogical knowledge are of great importance.

Purpose: to analyze and to generalize modern theoretical and methodological approaches to the development and improvement of the content of the training of future engineers-teachers; show the use of the basic principles of engineering pedagogy in the process of preparing classes in engineering discipline for the training of future engineer-teachers.

Methods: theoretical (induction, deduction, generalization, comparison) - to systematize scientific facts, establish relationships between concepts; empirical (observation, method of collecting and accumulating data on the experience of teaching engineering disciplines in an institution of higher professional (vocational) education) - for to discuss the main provisions.

Results: formation and development of engineering pedagogy are considered, the formation and development of engineering pedagogy, its current status in the system of human sciences are considered; highlights the activities of the International Society for Engineering Pedagogy, designed to help ensure a high level of professional qualifications for teachers of technical disciplines; generalized theoretical and methodological approaches to the development of engineering pedagogy.

Conclusions: it has been established that in modern conditions vocational education requires increased attention to the training of future engineer-teachers; among the many factors in the formation of a future teacher of vocational training, it is recognized that the observance of the fundamental theories of engineering pedagogy in the educational process and ensuring the system integration of engineering and pedagogical knowledge are recognized as important; the experience of using the basic principles of engineering pedagogy in the process of preparing classes in engineering discipline for the training of future engineers-teachers is presented.
