Forming of informational and analytical competence of the profession of travel agent

Abstract

The problem of formation of the informational and analytical competence of the profession of travel agent in vocational schools is determined in the article. The author conducted the analysis of educationally-qualifying characteristics of the profession of travel agent and identified the need for the informational and analytical activity in their profession. It is determined that the professional activity of travel agents includes informational and analytical components, and therefore the content of subjects should be aimed at the formation of the informational and analytical competence. The results of the survey conducted by the students of vocational schools showed that the teachers don‘t pay enough attention to the problem. The analysis of educational and professional training programs for skilled workers of the tourism industry helps to identify the ways of resolution of contradictions regarding the formation of informational and analytical competence of the profession of travel agent in vocational schools.

Scientific novelty of the survey results is the definition of "informational and analytical competence of the profession of travel agents" and substantiation of the requirements of informational and analytical competence of this profession in tourism market.
Further scientific research of the problem gives an opportunity to use the survey results for the development of specific curricula teaching materials, recommendations for theoretical and industrial training lessons and tests to check students‘ knowledge and skills.
