Implementation of web-quest in vocational schools
Abstract
The article proves that use of web quests allows to overcome the weaknesses and risks associated with the implementation of project-based learning technologies in motor transport vocational schools. The essence and structure of the web-quests are revealed. Training of vocational education teachers concerning the use of web quests is described. The data of experimental research as regards readiness of vocational education teachers to the use web quests are shown.
It was noted that the quality of training of future skilled workers in the sphere of motor transport can be improved by a combination of modern pedagogical technologies with information and communication technologies. An example of such efficient integration are effective web quests embodying project learning through the use of information and communication technologies. Effective use of project- based learning technologies in conjunction with the information and communication technologies in educational process of vocational schools increases efficiency of all types of training activities, quality of training of future skilled workers, formation of their professional competence and culture. Web- quest is considered in the context of project-based learning technology as a kind of Internet project that makes it possible to effectively use the information found on the Internet. A typical structure of a web quest is shown. The data in connection with the study as to readiness of teachers and trainers to the use of web quests are given. The structure of the readiness consists of such components as: motivational, personal, informative, operational. The results indicate the positive dynamics regarding development of teachers and trainers ready-to-use web-quests.
