Readiness of future home economics and industrial arts teachers for pedagogical interaction
Abstract
The importance of strengthening constructive pedagogical interaction in the educational process and the need for studying the state of future home economics and industrial arts teachers’ training for pedagogical interaction have been emphasized in the paper. The results of a survey of home economics and industrial arts teachers and instructors who train future home economics and industrial arts teachers and students have been presented. It has been highlighted that respondents can have different length of service, academic status or professional level. The analysis of the respondents’ characteristics has been performed so that the state of future teachers’ training may be more profoundly studied. It has been found out that nowadays a significant amount of home economics and industrial arts teachers have not obtained appropriate teacher education. According to the survey results it has been proved that instructors do not fully comprehend the significance and essence of pedagogical interaction in the educational process and do not use effective technologies of professional student training that ensure the forming of future home economics and industrial arts teachers’ readiness for pedagogical interaction. The main reasons not allowing to effectively perform constructive pedagogical interaction based on the cooperation during professional training of future home economics and industrial arts teachers have been defined.
