Оrganization of pupils’ extracurricular activities
Abstract
The role of pupils’ extracurricular activities in the generalized system of personality forming and development has been considered. The importance of combining curricular and extracurricular activities as components of an integral system of education has been emphasized. The questionnaire results on the state of pupils’ extracurricular activities realization have been presented. It has been indicated that the majority of respondents have different interests and take an active part in extracurricular activities according to their inclinations, although many pupils are still not involved. It has been emphasized that pupils independently join the clubs they want to be in that proves maturity of thought, existence of hobbies and pursuit of interests. It has been stated that, this notwithstanding, pupils’ choices are largely influenced by their parents and friends. Taking into account the questionnaire results, it has been specified that most pupils participate in clubs and are satisfied with their quality, yet the lack of teachers’ goal-oriented actions toward enhancing effectiveness of extracurricular activities results in inconsiderable impact on pupils’ choices; poor attendance, lack of motivation and enthusiasm to involve in extracurricular activities. It has been proved that today there are more art clubs than science, tech, travel and humanities ones; more pupils are taught by tutors and consider it to be an extracurricular activity.
