Modern problems of staff assessment in outsourcing IT-companies
Abstract
This article deals with practical aspects of personnel estimation in outsourcing IT-companies, especially through analysis of “Itera Consulting Ukraine” work experience. Thus, objective personnel estimation that is strategically necessary for further development of the company comes out of team management but not specialists competing. It is based on corporate competences model which is formed on the basis of European eCompetence Framework. The latter is a four-dimension structure where each dimension is characterised with its own descriptor.
In the process of personnel estimation it is appropriate to turn to the methods of professional competences estimation: interview on competences; special professional questionnaires that may vary depending on the specialization and qualification level of the specialist. And personal qualities can be estimated when “360 Degrees” method modification is applied. Within personal competences of IT specialists major ones are: quality orientation, problem-solving, communication, interpersonal relations, result orientation.
After estimation has been done, the results of productiveness, knowledge measuring as well as personal qualities of each specialist are put with their exact indices into a special information system that has been developed by “Itera Consulting Ukraine”. Their analysis forms the basis for further managerial decision on the specialist. It is important in the context of IT projects realization as today it demands integration of various specialists’ efforts, their precise, interconnected and consistent team work directed on result. That means that on modern stage of IT development human resources of any IT- company should be treated as integral system that can not be measured as sum of separate workers.
